Caren Mansfield has been employed as a paralegal since 1987 by the same firm. She is employed by the law offices of Baker, Baker & Krajewski LLC in Springfield, Illinois and specializes in labor and employment law litigation. She is a graduate of the American Institute for Paralegal Studies and obtained the credential of Certified Legal Assistant (now Certified Paralegal) in 1996. She has been a member of the Illinois Paralegal Association since 1988 and served on its Board of Directors from 1989 to 2020. She has held the offices of president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. The year she was President the IPA saw its highest membership. She has participated as a speaker at the IPA's Education Seminars, at an NFPA Education Seminar, and in other public settings on topics ranging from Discovery, Ethics, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Filing a Charge of Discrimination through Trial, Law Office Administration and more. For 17 years she submitted articles regarding paralegals several times a month to the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin's Legal Employment Weekly. She serves as a mentor to paralegals.
Caren served on the advisory board to the Sangamon State University (now University of Illinois-Springfield) Legal Studies program and the advisory board to the Robert Morris University paralegal program. She currently serves on the Triton College Advisory Board.
