7 Habits of the Indispensable Paralegal

In this motivational workshop, we put a new spin on Stephen Covey's Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by showing paralegals how they can develop their own work habits to advance their careers and enjoy their work more.  The habits that we identify come from years of research on the topic of how to find a rewarding, successful paralegal career.  What we found was that most "indispensable" paralegals have these habits in common.

• What separates a highly successful paralegal career from a paralegal job
• A different approach to the meaning of proactive behavior
• The importance of building and keeping credibility with attorneys
• Time management when juggling multiple priorities
• Why a paralegal should strive to become the "master of technology" on their team

Ann Pearson is the Founder of the Paralegal Boot Camp®. Ann develops training programs exclusively for paralegals and other legal professionals who work under the supervision of attorneys.

Before founding the Paralegal Boot Camp in 2010, Ms. Pearson had 20 years of experience in the legal industry.  Most recently, she was the paralegal manager at McKenna, Long & Aldridge LLP (now Dentons), where she managed the paralegals, docket clerks, and case assistants in Atlanta, New York, and San Diego. Before her management position, Ann was a litigation paralegal for many years at an AmLaw 50 firm working in construction litigation, antitrust, and commercial litigation.

Ann also teaches courses for Emory University’s Paralegal Certificate Program and is a frequent speaker at legal industry events.  She currently serves on the Advisory Board of Berkeley College’s paralegal certificate program and has served on the Advisory Board of Brown Mack College’s paralegal certificate program in Atlanta.  Ann is a member of the Association of Talent Development, the Project Management Institute, and the IPMA.

Ann received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida New College in Sarasota, Florida and a Paralegal Certificate from ABA-Approved State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota.
