Michael R. Jarecki is the principal of Jarecki Law Group, LLC, a Chicago-based full-service U.S. immigration law firm. Michael is a past Chair of the Chicago Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), an elected Director of AILA’s Board of Governors, and a previous Chair of the National LGBT Working Group of AILA. In 2021, the AILA Chicago Chapter awarded Michael its top individual honor—the Minsky Beacon of Light Award—for his dedication to the advancement of the immigration field and for outstanding mentorship. Michael has been recognized by SuperLawyers in Illinois for Immigration since 2012 and as one of the Best LGBT Attorneys Under 40, Class of 2012, by the National LGBT Bar Association, an affiliate of the ABA. In 2020, Michael was selected by Crain’s Chicago Business as a Notable LGBTQ Executive. He is a frequent speaker at legal conferences and with national and local media. Alen Takhsh is the Principal Attorney at Takhsh Law, P.C. (www.takhshlaw.com), an Evanston-based U.S. immigration law firm providing client-centric, compassionate legal counsel to those facing both straightforward and complex legal issues. From a refugee child to the University of Chicago to law school and eventually establishing a five-star law firm, Alen has an acutely intimate knowledge of his clients' immigration journey, keenly aware of the human element in every case. He has consistently been recognized by Super Lawyer for his commitment to excellence in the legal profession, often traveling internationally to present on various immigration topics, and he serves on the boards of Heartland Alliance and the National Immigrant Justice Center.
