Google is the dominant search engine in the U.S. today, and many attorneys and paralegals often use it to start their research projects. In this session we will cover a variety of things you may not know about Google - including specialized search features and methods, tips for getting the most out of Google’s settings, and advice for avoiding its pitfalls and limitations. Topics will include image searching, finding e-mail addresses, how personalization skews your search results, ways to uncover higher-quality information, and more. Matthew Bird is a Regional Manager of Research Services at Faegre Drinker, who regularly teaches Internet research skills to legal professionals. He has a PhD from the University of Wales, an MILS from the University of Michigan, and a BA from Princeton University.
