If so, renew your Illinois Paralegal Association membership today! The Board of Directors, which has several new members with new perspectives and ideas, has been busy planning for 2024. It’s shaping up to be an exciting year! We will start the year with a new monthly series titled “Tips from the Trenches”. As the name implies, members will share the tips they use to efficiently perform their tasks. Join to learn tips you can use or to share your tips with others. Member Appreciation will be another focus during 2024, and, as always, educational opportunities will be available throughout the year.
There are several different membership categories available - be sure to select the one that is best for you. For those planning for retirement, consider the Emeritus membership which is offered at a discounted rate and allows you to remain engaged with the Association and continue to influence the profession and those working in it. Other membership options include: Regular, Associate, Student, Sustaining and Educational Institution. Renewal is just the first step - don’t stop there! The more you put into your membership, the more you will get out of it. Get involved by bringing your thoughts and perspectives to others through active engagement. You can volunteer for a committee, share your thoughts through the Discussion Groups on IPA Connect, become a leader within your specific industry by chairing a section or planning an event, or simply sharing your ideas so others can bring them to fruition.
The IPA has been supporting paralegals since 1972. The profession and responsibilities of paralegals continue to expand. Renew today and grow with us!

NOTE: In January, 2022, the IPA switched to rolling renewals vs. calendar year; however, the majority of IPA members are up for renewal on January 1st. If you are not sure what your renewal date is, log in to the website and go to your Member Profile.
In your Member Profile, you will be able to see your:
- Member Type;
- Member Number;
- Member Join Date; and
- Exp. Date.
You will also find some additional useful options in your Member Profile screen, including:
- The opportunity to renew early, if you choose to;
- A secure place to add your credit card number for easier future payments; and
- A complete history of your purchases and payments through the IPA website (not including IPA Connect) and the ability to print receipts.
