Looking Ahead to an Exciting 2025

Samantha Misch

2024 is a wrap! The IPA had many fun events over the past year including the Sox game, new CLE opportunities, and our in-person Fall Education Conference. We introduced our new merchandise website to show off your IPA pride, refreshed our website, and revamped our logo! We also took a road trip to Springfield, Illinois for our August board meeting. It was an unforgettable experience seeing the capitol building, Lincoln’s tomb, and the Illinois Supreme Courthouse.

As we welcome 2025, I am excited about the year ahead and the great opportunities for growth and learning to come! I am looking forward to the upcoming Spring Education Conference and some surprise, not-yet-announced events! Stay tuned for more.

For those aspiring to take on leadership roles in 2025, I encourage you to consider stepping up to a position in the IPA. The board members have monthly meetings via Zoom on the first Monday of every month at 6:30 PM. Attending meetings is a great way to get involved and start the new year! The leadership of the IPA is vital to the organization's growth and provides an opportunity to give back to your paralegal community. Our Annual Meeting and Elections are coming up in April. Please reach out to me if you’re considering a leadership position.

For those looking to add to their resume in 2025, consider getting your Illinois Accredited Paralegal (ILAP) credential. This voluntary accreditation shows your commitment to professional development and remaining a qualified, informed, and ethical paralegal. More information about the ILAP accreditation is here: https://www.ipaonline.org/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=812874&module_id=187285

Whether you are a regular member, student member, or any other type of member, I invite all of you to be a part of this exciting year with the IPA. Let’s make 2025 a year to remember!

Sincerely,

Samantha Misch, ILAP
IPA President
