Increase Your Knowledge of All Things Paralegal + Network with Fellow Paralegals

The next few weeks are jam packed with Education and Networking opportunities for IPA Members.

One
On October 23rd the IPA will host its 2nd annual State of the Paralegal Profession webinar.  During this webinar we’ll explore the diversity in regulation across the country. Michael Houlberg, Director of Special Projects at IAALS, the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System, joined us in 2023 and is back to share what has changed over the last year.  As if that wasn’t exciting enough, Nitasha Miller, an Arizona Legal Paraprofessional (LP), will join us to share her journey. Nitasha was the 14th licensed paraprofessional in the State of AZ and holds the distinction of being the first – and currently the only – LP licensed to practice both family law and limited jurisdiction criminal defense.  This promises to be a very informative event. If you haven’t done so already, REGISTER TODAY!

Also, if you were unable to attend last year’s State of the Paralegal Profession, you can watch the recording HERE.

The IPA’s Fall Education Conference will take place IN-PERSON at Roosevelt University on November 7th.  We are offering 3 one-hour breakout sessions with 9 topics to choose from.  This gives you the opportunity to earn 3 hours of CLE from attorneys, paralegals and service providers in the legal industry.  BONUS: You will be mingling with other Paralegals and representatives from legal service providers!

Why does CLE matter?  Simply put, it helps us stay current in the latest legal developments in our specialty area so we can better assist our attorneys.  The IPA encourages paralegals to obtain some amount of CLE each year as an important part of your career.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to sharpen your skills on a topic you are familiar with or attend a session on something completely new that you would like to learn.  You never know when knowledge you gain may come in handy to one of your attorneys when you least expect it.  Let us help you be a rock star!  REGISTER NOW for the low price of $99 for IPA Members.
Three

Immediately following the close of the Fall Education Conference, IPA members and guests will come together at Exchequer Restaurant and Pub to celebrate Paralegal Day in Illinois, as proclaimed by Governor Pritzker.  For the low cost of $20 (through 10/31), IPA Members can enjoy pizza, wings, mini burgers, salad, and 2 hours of open bar (Seltzers + Draft, Bottle, Can Beer + Wine + House Liquor Selection).  Don’t wait, space is limited.  REGISTER TODAY!

If you have any questions, you can email Yvonne Kriss, IPA's Executive Director, at IPA@ipaonline.org.
